    Why does the game crash when I try to load the Coast to Coast map?

      Hello,

       

      Crashing when loading the Coast to Coast (C2C) map in ATS 1.58 is a common headache, usually caused by one of four specific issues: missing DLCs, an outdated mod version, incorrect load order, or a missing background map fix.

       

      1. Missing Map DLCs (Most Common)
      Coast to Coast is not a standalone map; it acts as a "bridge" between official SCS states. For version 1.58, C2C requires all currently released SCS Map DLCs.

      Requirement: You must own everything from New Mexico through to Missouri and Arkansas.
      Why it crashes: If the mod tries to load an asset from a DLC you don't own (like a Texas-specific road prefab), the game will "CTD" (Crash to Desktop) instantly during the loading bar.

       

      2. Incompatible Mod Version
      Ensure you are using Coast to Coast v2.22.58.0 (or higher).

      Each version of ATS (1.57, 1.58, etc.) changes the game’s core "map sector" files. Using a version of C2C designed for 1.57 on a 1.58 game will almost always cause a crash at about 60–70% of the loading bar.
      Solution: Download the latest version specifically tagged for 1.58 from official sources like the SCS Forums or TruckyMods.


      3. Incorrect Load Order
      In ATS, the order in the Mod Manager matters. Map mods should generally be at the bottom of your list, but within the map category, they must follow a specific hierarchy.

      The Golden Rule: Background Map > Map Patches/Connections > C2C > Other Maps.
      If you are using other maps (like Reforma or ProMods Canada), C2C usually sits just above them or requires a "Mega Resources" file to be active.


      4. Background Map & "Zoom" Crash
      Because C2C expands the map to the entire continent, the default SCS map UI can't handle the coordinates, leading to a crash when you press "M" or try to load into the world.

      The Fix: You likely need a Background Map Fix (e.g., "ProMods Complete North American Background" or a "Crash Fix for Huge Maps"). This adjusts the map's boundaries so the game doesn't panic when trying to render Florida or Maine.

       

      How to Diagnose Your Specific Crash
      If the above doesn't work, the game.log.txt file will tell you exactly what happened.

       

      - Navigate to: Documents/American Truck Simulator
      - Open game.log.txt with Notepad.
      - Scroll to the very bottom.
      - Look for lines starting with <ERROR>.

      - If you see "Failed to open file... /map/usa/...", you are missing a DLC.
      - If you see "Segment is too long" or "Pointer index out of range", it’s a version mismatch or background map issue.

    It's useless, it causes me to crash, I've tried a thousand combinations and the result is still the same, it kicks me out of the game

    Download mod Coast 2 Coast Patch file v2.0 (1.35.x) for ATS | American Truck Simulator game. This is the only patch, that allows you to combine Mexican Maps with latest C2C 2.8.0 and Canadream Tested on 1.35.x game version...

      Coast to Coast maps version 2.18.51.0. It didn't connect from Seattle, Wa to Bellingham Wa, It was a lot of a broken roads.

    I ran a job from Texas to Portland, Maine.  Everything went smooth for the most part.  When I got to Connecticut I wanted to stop at a rest stop so I could drive into the New England area in the daylight.  I stopped at two and neither of them worked.  A bit disappointing seeing as I am from the area.

    It loads ok and is not crashing the game as of yet. Have not driven into that section yet. But most of the cities are missing and can't find many, if any, jobs to go into the area. Roads, highways and companies are there but no city names.

    Hello, the 1.47 from april 15tth crashes instantly with startup, I have the Colorado DLC , never ever happend with earlier versions. I have no other mods installed, only C2C , crashes in the loadscreen

    Ran into some sections of road missing between Salina,KS and McPherson,KS. Also ran into another section of road missing south of McPherson and just north of Witchita,KS. I had to rely on the GPS to find the road again. Game didn't crash or anything,I think it is just missing textures.

    Hello, can you please fix the city of Rocky Mount in North Carolina, I drove down every street in the city and never did get the notification that I had discovered the city and there is not a trigger at the place I was delivering to there so I had to just abandon the load, I'm using v2.12.45.4, thanks...

    It's pretty good the only complaint I have is that in Columbus Ohio the terrain and scenery looks like a desert and I hope you add some more cities in Ohio like Dayton or Cincinnati.

    I downloaded the file it came as scs form I put it into a new profile mod and it crashes.  No other mods are installed v 1.43.  I have all dlc except Colorado and Wyoming. I'm not sure what to do can you help?

    C2C needs to be updated to current version of the game, I have the latest version of the mod for said game/version and it says it incompatible. i'm not sure if its user error or it genuinely is the wrong version, please help/fix at your earliest convenience.
